Common Furniture Beetle
This is the most common form of woodworm Verminate treat is the the common furniture beetle (Anobium punctatum).
The common funiture beetle is a wood boring beetle, this beetle usually is between 2.5 -4.5mm in size and brown in colour. An example of a common furniture beetle can be seen below:
This beetle prefers softwood speicies of timber, they generally prefer damp wood. The grub will look for and stay in plywood for longer than other timbers.

Where would I find the Common Furniture Beetle?
The common furniture beetle lays its eggs on the timber and the grubs cause the damage. Damp timber especially is at risk, floorboards, old furniture especially where varnish has worn off.
